Please join us for the first IMI KL salah (prayer) and
iftar (breaking of fast), meditation and singing of love and healing
which interweaves prayer of all Muslim traditions including Sufism
and also incorporating practise of mindful breathing from Plum Village
Thich Nhat Hanh tradition in celebrating Ramadhan. Ramadhan is a month
of love, contemplation, healing, community engagement and ‘greening
ourselves’. We would like to pray, fast, meditate and sing with intent
to spread the energies of love and healing this Universe for all the
inequalities, violence and discrimination that takes place every day
within our communities.
Tentative programme: Starts@6.45pm.Welcoming and intro to IMI KL. Mindful
meditation.Azan (call for prayer). Breaking fast with dua (supplication).
Congregational evening/Maghrib prayer.5 contemplations (dua) before meal.Savouring
mindfully main meal. Sharing,‘Reflection on Ramadhan’. Short discussion.Singing
Plum Village songs.Poem recitation. Closing with coming back to our breath

Dr. Sattar would like this session to be interactive and relevant as possible,
so has asked for those interested in attending to indicate what they’d like to
discuss. Here are some possible topics:
-Types of mental health problems - depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar
disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, anorexia, bulimia.
-Signs and symptoms of mental health problems
-What to do if you think someone has a mental health problem but is not seeking
-How can you support someone who has a mental health problem?
-Stigma - how it affects peoples and how can we challenge it
-Voluntary organisations that can help
-Treatment for mental health problems - drugs and talking therapies (a brief
